The People And Process Behind MI Buying House
MI Buying House started as one person coordinating orders between overseas buyers and Pakistani factories back in 2006. Two decades on, it still runs on the same idea: one accountable team standing between your brand and the factory floor, not a list of contacts you have to manage yourself.
In short: MI Buying House is a Karachi, Pakistan-based apparel buying house and garments sourcing company. Since 2006, it has handled factory sourcing, sampling, quality control and production follow-up for apparel brands in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union and Australia, with private label orders starting at 100 pieces per style and no upper limit.
From One Contact To A Full Buying House
In 2006, sourcing apparel from Pakistan usually meant a buyer finding one trusted local contact and hoping that person had time to look after their order properly. That is roughly how MI Buying House began — a single point of contact in Karachi, managing a handful of orders between overseas buyers and the factories that could actually produce them well.
What changed over the years was not the idea, just the scale of it. As more brands asked for the same thing — someone to vet the factory, sit through sampling, and stay on the floor during production — that single-contact model grew into a structured buying house covering knitwear, wovens, denim and home textiles, still run out of Karachi, still built around direct, personal accountability rather than a call centre.
That history is also why the minimum order has stayed low. A model built on individual relationships does not need to demand five-figure minimums to be worth running — it needs to be worth trusting, one order at a time.
The Work, In Plain Terms
Strip away the industry terms and the job comes down to three things: pick the right factory, make sure the sample is right before bulk starts, and stay close enough during production that nothing goes wrong quietly.
Before Production
Factory shortlisting based on what a mill already makes well, fabric and trim sourcing, costing broken down by component, and sampling rounds until the pre-production sample is something you would actually approve.
During And After Production
Inline checks while goods are still on the machines, an AQL-based final inspection with photo reporting, private label branding applied at the factory, and export documentation handled before dispatch.
What We Actually Hold Ourselves To
One Order, One Team
The person who costs your order is reachable through the same order that ships it. Nothing gets handed off to someone new halfway through.
Nothing Bulk-Cuts Without An Approved Sample
No exceptions for a “trust me, it will match” shortcut. A written tech pack and your sign-off come before fabric is booked.
We Say No When Pakistan Isn’t The Fit
Cotton-based garments — denim, wovens, knitwear, home textiles — are the real strength here. If your product needs a two-week trend turnaround, we will tell you that directly instead of taking the order anyway.
Client Names Stay Private
We do not publish the brands we have produced for, and we are wary of any buying house that does so without permission. A reference call is available on request instead.
Mostly Brands Who Are Tired Of Five-Figure Minimums
Most of the enquiries that come through MI Buying House are from private label founders launching a first production run, e-commerce and Amazon sellers who have been burned once by an unvetted factory, and boutique or growing fashion brands trying to get a real cost advantage without losing control over fit and finish. A smaller share are retail buyers and workwear companies evaluating Pakistan as a second sourcing country, usually after shifts in US or EU trade policy pushed them to look beyond a single supplier country. None of that changes how an order is run — a 100-piece first order gets the same sampling discipline and inline inspection as a repeat bulk program.
Karachi, With Reach Across The Country’s Main Clusters
The team is based in Karachi, which keeps day-to-day coordination and export logistics close to home. Orders themselves are placed wherever the product is genuinely made best — knitwear and home textiles largely stay within reach of Karachi, woven garments and denim more often run through Lahore, fabric and finishing lean on Faisalabad’s long-standing textile base, and technical or sportswear pieces draw on Sialkot’s specialist manufacturing history. Being based centrally rather than tied to one factory town is what allows an order to go to the right cluster instead of the most convenient one.
